AHEAD is pleased to announce a photo contest to document examples of campus/ organizational environments that demonstrate inclusive or universal design. This contest offers AHEAD members, and members of AHEAD Affiliate organizations, the opportunity to identify ways in which their campus thinks about and responds to disability and design in all types of environments (e.g. physical, service, learning environments).
Goals of the contest
- To provide an opportunity for AHEAD members to identify, illustrate, and interpret examples of universal design.
- To promote a universal design approach to disability among AHEAD members and within their campus communities.
Contest timeline
Submit photos online: April 15-May 25.
Judging of photos: June 1-25
AHEAD Conference attendees voting for The People’s Choice award: July 24-26 (noon) at the conference.
The People’s Choice winner announcement: Friday, July 26 at the Awards Banquet
Twelve winning photos will be printed and displayed at the AHEAD conference in Louisville. Conference participants will have the opportunity to vote for The People’s Choice from among the winning photos. The People’s Choice winner will receive a one year free Institutional Silver Membership in AHEAD. Letters of congratulations will be sent to the Institutions of the other winners. Select photos will be archived in the AHEAD UD Toolkit for use in AHEAD-sponsored universal design publications and activities.
